1. At least 3 hours before disconnecting,
turn the thermostat control (4) to ‘6‘. This
way, the frozen food gets a cold reserve
and does not defrost as quickly.
2. After 3 hours, turn the thermostat control
to “0”.
3. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
4. Take out the frozen food.

5. Unscrew the defrost water drain cap (10)
in the base of the freezer anti-clockwise
to drain the defrost water.
6. Leave the lid open during defrosting.
The defrosting time depends on the thick-
ness of the ice layer. Experience shows
that you can start to clean the chest freez-
er after approximately one hour.
7. To accelerate defrosting, place a bowl of
hot, but not boiling, water in the freezer.
8. Place a bowl under the defrost water
drain (6) to catch escaping defrost water.
9. Carefully scrape off any stubborn ice
with the plastic scraper (3).
10. Wipe the interior with warm rinsing wa-
ter.
11. Clean the chest freezer (see figure
„Check and clean the cover seals“ on
page EN-19).
12. After cleaning, thoroughly rub everything
dry, including the door. Ventilate
everything for a short time.
13. Screw the cap back into the defrost wa-
ter drain at the base of the chest freezer.
14. Close the defrost water drain with the
cap.
15. Insert the mains plug back into the sock-
et and turn the thermostat control to “6”.
16. Once a temperature of –18 °C is
reached, you can re-pack your frozen
food. Set the thermostat control to the
desired cooling capacity.
