3.2. RFID (Radio frequency identification)
For unique identification, the Semmelweis Scanner uses radio frequency identification (RFID).
The institutions also have the opportunity to use their own ID cards. In this case, the cards must
meet the following criteria, and should be tested with the Product by the manufacturer or
distributor prior to use:
13.56 MHz cards:
Mifare 1k, Mifare 4k,
Mifare UltraLight and
NFC NTAG203
125 kHz cards:
EM 4001 or compatible
cards
It is recommended to use the Semmelweis Scanner with ISO 14443A compatible
cards only. There are slight differences in RFID cards from different
manufacturers. It is recommended to test the particular RFID card with the
Product to make sure it is working properly.
Please note that the Scanner can only operate either in 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz mode at a time.
