Status light for power capacity
IMPORTANT:
To start a vehicle the backup battery must have a least 20% of its full capacity Put the
red clip on the positive battery terminal on the vehicle and the black clip on the negative terminal
before connecting the jump lead to the backup battery Start the vehicle Disconnect the jump lead
from the backup battery BEFORE removing the clips from the battery
• Children must be supervised by an adult when using the backup battery and must carefully
follow the instructions for safe and correct use
• It is normal for the temperature of the equipment to increase slightly during use and charging
• It is recommended to use the equipment under normal conditions at a safe distance from
sources of moisture and heat
• Do NOT use the battery if it is leaking, smells bad, or looks damaged
• Protect the backup battery from knocks and blows
Hot-starting a vehicle
If for some reason the car battery has gone flat and will not start the car, the backup battery can
supply sufficient power to start the car First put the power switch on the backup battery in the OFF
position The car can usually be started even if only one LED is lit up on the backup battery Connect
the positive (red) clip to the car battery’s positive terminal and the negative (black) clip to the
battery’s negative terminal When the clips are in place, connect the end of the jump lead to the
outlet on the backup battery marked Engine Start Put the power switch on the backup battery in the
ON position and start the car Switch off to use the ignition again, and start again repeatedly until the
engine starts Remove the jump lead from the backup battery when the motor is running and then
remove the clips from the car battery
LED lights that show the available power The car can be
started when at least one LED is lit up
Set the unit’s power switch to OFF before starting
Lift up the cover marked Engine Start to access the outlet for
the jump lead
