Lowering
Open the bleed valve slowly by turning the handle anti-clockwise until the valve opens a little. Do not turn
so far that the valve comes loose from the seat.
MAINTENANCE
When the jack is not in use, it must be stored in the fully lowered position. This protects the piston
rod and the pump piston against corrosion.
Use type SAE 10 hydraulic oil for the best results.
Clean the jack and lubricate external moving parts such as the spindle, wheels, cotter and gudgeon
pin.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The lifting handle
moves up in the
event of a load
The valves may not close fully. Lower the lifting arm and close the relief valve.
Place one foot on one of the front wheels and lift the lifting arm by hand as far as
it will go. Open the relief valve so that the lifting arm drops down. As a result, the
jack should work properly.

The jack does not lift
the load.
Hydraulic oil level too low. Remove the filler plug and fill with clean hydraulic oil.
Open the filler plug to release any air from the hydraulic system.
Air may have entered the jack. Open the relief valve by turning one full turn. Lift
up the rear wheels until the jack is vertical. Pump firmly with the handle. Close the
valve and test the jack.

The jack feels
unstable when

The jack cannot be
lowered fully after
lifting.
Open the filler plug to release any air from the hydraulic system.
The lifting arm’s return spring may be damaged or have come loose. Replace the
spring. This will probably need to be lubricated. Clean and lubricate all moving
parts in the lifting arm.
