CCD Data Acquisition Module C9266-03/C9266-04

(4)  External synchronous mode 3 (“EXT.LEVEL1” mode)

Data is acquired in synchronization with an external trigger signal pulse supplied
from the CCD. Since this trigger signal pulse is generated in synchronization with
the X-ray exposure time this mode is also called the "Auto Trigger” mode. Even
in this mode the CCD performs a dummy scan until the input of an external
trigger pulse. Upon the input of an external trigger pulse, the CCD carries out
integration in the same intervals and then outputs the data. The trigger signal
polarity is negative.

(5)  External synchronous mode 4 (“EXT.LEVEL2” mode)

This mode is basically the same as the “EXT.LEVEL1” mode. Data is acquired in
synchronization with an external trigger signal input via the BNC connector of the
C9266-03/C9266-04.The input signal level is H-CMOS compatible. The trigger
signal can be either a positive-going or negative-going pulse, selectable by the
software.

Because there is not a BNC connector, this mode is not usable in the C9266-04.

5)  Exposure time adjustment

Use to adjust the C9266-03/C9266-04 hardware exposure time for CCD in steps from
1 to 65,535 mSec. But in the case of "EXT.EDGE1" data acquisition mode, it ranges
from 41 to 65,535 mSec. If data acquisition mode is Internal mode ("INT" mode),
External synchronous mode 1 ("EXT.EDGE1" mode) or External synchronous mode
2 ("EXT.EDGE2" mode), this setting value becomes effective. This setting value
shows the "Exposure Time" of "5.2 Data acquisition timing charts".

6)  Operating mode setting

The C9266-03/C9266-04 works in the following 4 operating modes. Operating modes
(1) to (3) can be selected by the software, but "Data Transfer" mode (4) is
automatically called up inside the C9266-03/C9266-04 module. The LED display on
the C9266-03/C9266-04 lets you know which operating mode is currently selected.

(1) “Suspend

mode”

This is normal USB operating mode and you can safely disconnect the
C9266-03/C9266-04 module from the PC.

(2) “Idle/Sleep

mode”

Power is being supplied to the C9266-03/C9266-04 module but the CCD is idle
(not operating). You can connect or disconnect the CCD from the
C9266-03/C9266-04.

(3) “Standby

mode”

The C9266-03/C9266-04 is ready to acquire data in this mode. The CCD is
repeating a so-called "dummy scan" by sweeping the dark current.

(4)  “Data Transfer” mode

The CCD acquires an X-ray image and transfers the image data to the PC.
