4. Before starting
Notes on use
•
When a selection among menu items is to be made
(such as
Y or N ), the one currently selected fl ashes.
•
In menus offering a variety of different options (such
as DRC, language and so on), the currently selected
option is marked with
* .
Navigation and controls
[VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (9) has two different
functions:
•
Turn [VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (9) to select among
menu items.
•
Con fi rm the selection by pressing [VOLUME/ENTER/
NAVIGATE] (9).
Press [BACK] (7) to return to the previous menu level.
Volume adjustment
Turn [VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (9) to increase/reduce
the volume.
5. Getting started
Note - Optimal reception
•
Pull the antenna out completely.
•
We recommend you adjust the antenna vertically to
ensure optimal reception.
5.1 Switching the device on
•
Connect the power cable to a properly installed power
socket.
Warning
•
Only connect the product to a socket that has been
approved for the device. The electrical socket must
always be easily accessible.
•
Disconnect the product from the power supply using
the on/off switch – if this is not available, unplug the
power cord from the socket.
•
Wait until the radio initialisation procedure has fi nished.
The station search in the operating mode DAB starts
up automatically when the radio is turned on for the fi rst
time.
By default, the radio starts with the English menu
navigation. Set up your desired language as described in
5.2 Language .
5.2 Language
The fi rst time the system starts the radio uses English. To
change this, proceed as follows:
Press
[MENU]
>
Language
> Select language
Con fi rm your selection by pressing the [VOLUME/ENTER/
NAVIGATE] button.
Note
• You can choose from the following languages:
English, German, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French,
Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish,
Swedish,Turkish, Czech and Slovak.
