•
Never exceed the maximum permitted input values for
current and voltage.
•
TAKE SPECIAL CARE
when handling high voltages.
•
DO NOT
measure the voltage at the “COM” input socket if
the voltage is higher than 300 V above earth connection.
•
NEVER
connect the measuring cables to a voltage source
if the function selection switch is set to current, resistor
or diode test.
Not following these instructions can result in damage to
the measuring device.
•
ALWAYS
discharge the filter capacitors in the power
supplies and disconnect the voltage source if you want to
measure resistance or test diodes.
•
ALWAYS
disconnect the power and remove the measuring
cables before opening the cover to change the fuse or battery.
•
NEVER
use the measuring device unless you have safely
locked the cover on the back of the device again.
Warning – Batteries
•
When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and
- markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to
do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
•
Only use batteries that match the specified type. Keep
the instructions for the correct choice of batteries
included with the operating instructions of devices safe
for future reference.
•
Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery
contacts and the polarity contacts.
•
Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
•
Replace all the batteries in a set at the same time.
•
Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of
different types or from different manufacturers.
•
Remove the batteries from products that are not being
used for an extended period (unless these are being kept
ready for an emergency).
•
Do not short-circuit batteries.
•
Do not charge batteries.
•
Do not burn batteries or heat them up.
•
Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow
them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic,
environmentally harmful heavy metals.
•
Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of
them without delay.
•
Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme
temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric
pressures (such as at high altitudes).
•
Ensure that batteries with damaged housings
do not come into contact with water.
•
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
5. Replacing the battery:
•
Disconnect the measuring device from live components and
pull off the measuring cables.
•
Unscrew both screws at the back of the housing.
•
Remove the rear part of the housing.
•
Avoid touching the printed circuit board or any parts
attached to it, as this may cause damage.
•
Close the cover and firmly tighten the screws of the
housing.
Warning
To avoid the risk of electric shock, proceed as follows
before opening the housing:
•
Remove the testing probes from the measuring points.
•
Remove the testing probes from the connection sockets.
•
Switch the multi-meter off.
