These Haklift self-locking hooks are designed for the assembly of chain slings and after reading the operating
manual as well as the current national norms for lifting and transporting purposes. Haklift self-locking hooks
are to be combined with other components meeting required norms and directives to build chain slings. The
operating manual must always be available to the user until the hooks are discarded.
Conditions of use:
•
Purpose:
Haklift self-locking hooks serve as an attachment of the chain sling to the load. The safety
catch can be loosened by hand, but the hook also closes automatically when loaded and will be locked
by means of a trigger located on the back of the hook. The trigger needs to be pressed in order to
open the hook.
•
Load:
The load must only be applied in the longitudinal direction and on the center of the radius on
the hook. Hook shall be aligned in the direction of the load. Maximum working load limit stated in the
product markings shall not be exceeded.
•
Admissible operating temperature:
-40°C to 200°C (201°C - 300°C 90% of the WLL; 301°C - 400°C
75% of the WLL; over 400°C not permitted).
•
Impacts:
The load must be applied without any impact or shock loading.
•
To be used and assembled only by competent personnel.
•
To be inspected before each use for visible signs of damage.
•
DON’T
use with food, cosmetics or pharmaceutical products, and must not be subjected to severe
corrosive influences (e.g. acids).
•
DON’T
use in explosion-protected areas.
•
DON’T
apply any surface coating procedure with damaging effects on the materials and do not subject
the product to heat, welding or drilling processes.
•
Always
ensure that the safety catch is completely closed and locked when load is applied. The safety
catch must not be loaded during the lifting process (attention when building loops).
•
Storage:
Product shall be stored cleaned, dried, protected from corrosion.
Assembly instructions:
The assembly may only be executed by a qualified person. Haklift self-locking hooks are attached from the
eye of the hook to the chain by means of connecting links. The lifting accessory into which the component is
to be attached must be declared in the conformity with the provisions of the Directive 2006/42/EC.
Maintenance, inspections and repairs:
•
Maintenance:
Haklift Grade 80 components shall be cleaned regularly, dried when in contact with wet
atmospheres and protected from corrosion.
•

Signs of “opening out” of hooks, i.e. any noticeable increase in the throat openings or any
other form of distortion in the product;
o
Signs of heat;
o
In the case of case of doubts about the safety and correct functioning;
o
Unrecognizable identification marking;
