5 ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY
5.1 GENERAL INFORMATION
Assembly and disassembly operations of the scaffolding must be performed by at least 2
people, and it is essential that they are familiar with the use and maintenance instructions.
Assembly operations – varying in function of the configuration purchased – will be performed as
indicated in this manual. Damaged components must not be used. Only original manufacturer
components must be used.
5.2 PRELIMINARY INSPECTION
Personnel in charge of assembly and use of the mobile scaffolding must utilize suitable and
specific protective equipment. The protective equipment must be fastened directly – or by
means of a connector – along a rail or a lifeline to the stable parts of fixed or temporary
constructions. The surface beside which the scaffolding is mounted and moved (if necessary)
must be able to bear the scaffolding weight. The scaffolding must be positioned to level and
equal load distribution must be achieved by using boards or other equivalent means if need
be. The absence of any obstacle whatsoever must be verified. Assembly operations may be
initiated only in the absence of wind current. The availability in loco of all components, tools,
accessories, and safety equipment (shock absorbers, connectors, lifelines, harnesses etc.) for
assembly of the mobile scaffolding must be verified.
5.3 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Perform the inspection as described in the previous section and, only once the inspection is
complete, proceed to assembly of the basic structure:
• Place the structure to level, verifying the horizontal linearity of the structure by means of
bubble levels.
• At least one of the operators allocated to assembly must wear a safety harness and climb to
the working platform of the scaffolding, by means of the specific trapdoor.
• Upon having fastened the end of the safety harness rope to one of the previously mounted
connection struts, you may insert the other 2 side frames and 2 connection struts; successively,
you may complete the assembly of the windproof tie rods and the manual fastening of the
turnbuckles. At this stage, you may continue the assembly of the scaffolding following the same
sequence of operations for successive lifting;
• Throughout the assembly phase, it is recommended to use ropes of a suitable diameter for
component lifting. Do not lift more than one component at a time.
