the opinion of Rolf C. Hagen, Inc., the Ceramic Heater has been
subjected to accident or improper usage. This warranty is in lieu of
any other obligation, liability, right or claim, whether in contact or in
tort, including any right in strict liability in tort or any right arising
from negligence on the part of Rolf C. Hagen Inc. for any direct,
incidental, consequential or other damage.
RECYCLING
This item bears the selective sorting symbol for waste
electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE). This means
that the product must be handled pursuant to European
Directive 2002/96/EC in order to be recycled or
dismantled to minimise it’s impact on the environment.
For further information please contact your local or regional
Authorities. Electronic products not included in the selective sorting
process are potentially dangerous for the environment and human
health due to the prescence of hazardous substances.

If you have any problem or question about the operation of this
product, please consult your Exo Terra ® specialist retailer in the first
instance. Most problems can be resolved in store, but in the likely
event it cannot, please return the unit with a valid proof of purchase
to the retailer for a replacement under the two year warranty. When

Introduction
Reptiles are ectotherms, or cold blooded animals (ecto, outside;
therm, temperature). Although they produce some form of metabolic
heat, they have no efficient means of conserving it or of increasing
or decreasing its production. This means they have to absorb heat
from the surrounding environment.
The Ceramic Heater is a radiant heat source and creates a natural
sun-like heat with a uniform pattern. The long wave infrared heat
produced by this emitter will warm reptiles very efficiently. It also
increases the ambient air-temperature in the terrarium. Infrared heat
penetrates the scales and skin tissue, promoting health and healing
as it widens the blood vessels and increases blood circulation. No
light is emitted so as not to disturb the normal photo-periods of
the animals.
Instructions
The Ceramic Heater is to be used only with the specially designed
Exo Terra ® Wire Light (PT2060/PT2062). Failure to do so could result
in a possible fire hazard. Screw Ceramic Heater into Wire Light, and
attach to the top rim of your terrarium. Test that the Wire Light is
firmly secured by gently tapping it with your fingers. Always place
the Wire Light over the top screen portion of the terrarium and NOT
over any glass part! Make sure to use the proper wattage Ceramic
Heater for the source terrarium. (i.e. 40W – 5-10 gallon (20-40
litres); 60W – 10-20 gallon (40-80 litres); 100W – 30-40 gallon
(120-160 litres); 150W – 50-100 gallon (200-400 litres) and 250W
– +100 gallon (+400 litres). Keep Ceramic Heater out of reach of
small children.
GUARANTEE
Rolf C. Hagen, Inc. warrants each Ceramic Heater to be free of
defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service
for a period of 24 months after purchase. Warranty is limited to
repair or replacement of the product only when returned to Rolf
