Reference Solenoid Assembly 10406000.
1. Remove the two self-tapping screws that hold the solenoid to the clamp
body. Remove solenoid and tube clamp from clamp body.
2. Inspect clamp body and tube holder for cracks; replace if necessary.
3. The tube clamp should be tight on the solenoid shaft.
4. If replacement or adjustment of the tube clamp is required, break the tube
clamp from the solenoid shaft.
5. Verify that the solenoid shaft is not bent or causing the tube clamp to bind
in the clamp body.
6. Replace/adjust the tube clamp on the shaft to a length of 4.125 + 0.010 -
0.005 in. Apply a drop of Super Glue to where the shaft and clamp meet;
allow the spacer to drop onto the clamp. Allow adhesive to set.
7. To reassemble, apply Dow Corning
®
55 lubricant to the O-ring and tube
clamp. Do not allow lubricant on the top of the clamp where it contacts
the tube holder.
8. Reassemble, reference Tube Clamp/Solenoid Inspection, Replacement
and Adjustment on page 7-2.
9. Power on the Shaker. Using a water bag, thread the tubing through the
tube clamp. Activate the clamp by pressing the <-> key. Attempt to force
a bubble through the clamp. No movement through the clamp should be
noticed.
