1.6 Sensor Installation

The Brix/Diet, O

2

, and CO

2

 sensors are mounted and connected inside the sampling

module (see 

Fig 1-5 on page 11

). For detailed information on installation and

preparation, please refer to the appropriate accompanying 

Sensor Maintenance and

Installation Manuals

.

Once installed, the CO

2

 sensor requires additional attention.

1.6.1 CO

2

 Sensor Purge Gas Connection

Before installing the CO

2

 sensor, make sure that:

1) The instrument is switched ON
2) The purge gas is connected (see following instructions) and supplied at 2-bar 

gauge pressure

CAUTION:

Do not place the CO

2

 sensor into a liquid sample until the above is true, as without a 

constant supply of dry purge gas, water could condense inside the measuring chamber 
and cause damage to the thermal conductor chip.

To ensure that the purge gas is dry and maintained at the correct pressure, a model
29089 regulator and filter (see 

Fig 1-14

) is mounted inside the sampling module.
