etc. Use an extension cable and place the device outside.
The following recommendations are applicable to all wireless devices:
• Do not touch or move the antenna while the device is transmitting or receiving.
• When the antenna is transmitting, do not touch any equipment that contains devices that radiate very close to, or
touching, any exposed part of the body (particularly the face and eyes).
• Do not install the device in areas where the atmosphere is potentially explosive.
• Wireless devices can cause interferences in other devices. Do not use the device in areas where medical equip-
ment is installed.
3.7.4 Wireless LAN internal antennas
The M10-Smartrouter family has two integrated antennas for a Wireless LAN module covering both the 2.4 GHz and
5 GHz bands.
Note
The WLAN module is internal and is only available for the Wi-Fi models.
3.7.5 Connecting for configuration
The M10-Smart router family has an RJ45 female connector on the rear panel (labeled "CONSOLE") that provides
access to the device's local console

3.8 Installing the SIM card
The M10-Smart router family has a Wireless WAN interface that may need a SIM card to operate.
The M10-Smart has one protected SIM tray located on its side panel, as shown in the following figure.

To access the internal SIM, remove the SIM cover and insert the SIM card in its slot.

Use a Phillips PH1 screwdriver to loosen the screw of the card slot cover found on the side of the router and re-
move the cover.

To insert the SIM card:
Insert the SIM card with the connector side facing down in the slot and then push the card all the way in until it
clicks. Make sure the card is facing the right way, as shown in the following image.
