Reattach the cover plate over the scale tension set screw, and replace the plastic plug over the tension adjusting
screw.

Go to the DEBUG page. Turn servos off by
pressing
[EMERGENCY STOP]
.
Look at the Z-channel travel display (left side of
screen in the middle). The X:xxxx will be used to
adjust tension of scale tape. This number is in
units of µm.
Remove the cover plate and plastic plug. Under
the cover plate is the tape tension locking screw.
This must be loosened. There is a tension
adjusting screw in the end of the scale, use a hex
key on the screw to reduce tension on the scale.
As tension is reduced, the X-axis value on the Z-
channel Travel Display page will change as well.
Continue reducing the tension until the value
stops changing. At this point the tape is fully
relaxed.
Add the value of V, calculated in step 3, to the X-
axis value found on the Z-channel Travel display
page. For example, if X-axis = 8756 then add 567
µm from the example (your number will be
different) and obtain Xaxis= 9323.
Turn the tensioning screw at the end of scale
extrusion and begin tensioning the scale tape
while monitoring the value of X-axis on the Z-
channel Travel Display page. Continue to tension
the tape until the value of Xaxis matches the
calculated value. Sample tests indicate that about
17 revolutions are needed.
Once the correct value of X-axis is achieved,
tighten the tension locking screw. Check to
insure the X-axis value did not change. If it did
change, loosen the lock screw and readjust
tension until correct value is reached.
