Pre-installation tasks
Before installing the AP, perform the following tasks:
•
Connect the AP to a power source and the network. Examine the LEDs to verify that the AP is
operating correctly. For information about AP LEDs, see "
LEDs ."
•
Make sure cable routing has been completed.
•
Use Category-5e or above twisted pair cables to connect 2.5/5 Gbps Ethernet ports and use
Category-6 or above twisted pair cables to connect 10 Gbps Ethernet ports.
•
Record the MAC address and serial number at the rear of the AP for future use.
Determining the installation position
CAUTION:
If interface cables are routed outdoors, prepare network port lightning arresters and install them at
the AP side.
