4.3.2 Advanced Call Configuration
The advanced call configuration of the voice gateway includes enabling/disabling Fast
Connect mode, fax protocol and voice coding/decoding algorithm. Figure 4-12 shows
the advanced call configuration items.

Connect
VG 10-10/10-11 deals with the voice calls. It is up to the
calling party to decide whether to enable the Fast
Connect mode.
Ruled by Recommendation H.225.0, when the Fast
Connect mode is enabled, the standard H.245 message
(such as the open logical channel message) is carried in
the Setup, CallProceeding, Alerting or Connect
message. In this way, the RTP/RTCP voice channel is
established before the gateway receives the Connect
message, thus the TCP connection process for H.245
message interaction is avoided and the connecting time
is shortened.
