System power consumption
The system power consumption is the total power consumption of all external and internal removable
components. It varies depending on the types and numbers of the removable components.
For example, if the device is installed with one FIP-30, two MIC-X-XP4 interface modules, one
RISER-FHFL-X16 riser module, one HBA-H460-B1 module, two NS-HDD-1T-SATA-SFF drives, and
two FAN-80-1 fan trays, the system power consumption is 1 × 39 + 2 × 5.73 + 1 × 0 + 1 × 17 + 2 × 5
+ 2 × 30 = 137.46 W.
Heat dissipation
Heat dissipation is measured in BTU/h. 1 W equals 3.4121 BTU/h.
The heat dissipation of a router depends on its power consumption. To calculate heat dissipation of
the device, assume 90% power consumption is converted to heat, and the power supply efficiency is
90%. Heat dissipation of the router per hour is 0.9 × (total power consumption of the internal and
external removable components)/0.9 × 3.4121.
