Parameters
sampler-name
: Assigns the name to the sampler, a case-insensitive string of 1 to 32 characters.
fixed
: Specifies the fixed sampling mode, in which the first packet is selected per sampling.
random
: Specifies the random sampling mode, in which a packet is randomly selected out of a group of
packets, and which packet is selected for each sampling varies.
packet-interval
rate
: Specifies the sampling rate. The sampling rate is calculated using the formula 2 to
the
n
th power, where
n
is the
rate
value. The value range for the
rate
argument is 1 to 16.
Usage guidelines
This command is effective for all cards on the following routers:
•
SR6604-X, SR6608-X, and SR6616-X routers.
•
SR6604, SR6608, and SR6616 routers that have RPE-X1 MPUs or RSE-X1 MPUs installed.
Examples
# Create a sampler with the name
abc
in random sampling mode. Set the sampling rate to 8, which
means one packet out of 256 packets (2 to the 8th power) is sampled.
