3.6 Installing Disks
3.6.1 Disk Bays
Each IX1000 device provides 16 bays for installing disks. They are numbered from the
top down and from left to right for easy identification of the disks, as shown in
Figure
3-13 .

3.6.2 Verification Before Installation

Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap, as shown in Figure 3-14 .

Remove the blank panel on the bay, if any.

The screws on the two sides of the disk are firmly fixed and the ejector lever for
electromagnetic radiation prevention is in good condition.
3.6.3 Installation Procedure
To install a disk, proceed as follows:
1) Press the clip with your index finger along the arrowed direction (as shown in
Figure 3-14 ) to release the handle of the disk (as shown in Figure 3-15 ).
