• Connect the camera to the network using a shielded
network cable (CAT5e / CAT6)
• Optionally – connect external input /output devices, e.g.
alarm devices
• Optionally – connect an active speaker and/or external
microphone
• Power the camera either through POE (Power Over
Ethernet), 12VDC or 24VAC power sources, the POE
connection would be auto detected by the camera.
3. Assign an IP Address
Most networks today have a DHCP server that automatically assigns IP addresses to
connected devices. If your network does not have a DHCP server the autoIP camera will
use 192.168.0.250 as the default IP address.
The autoIP Discovery Tool can be used to assign a new IP address. The tool is available
on the CD supplied with this product or it can be downloaded from http://www.gviss.
com/support/ip_support.php.
Note:The computer running the autoIP Discovery Tool must be on the
same network segment (physical subnet) as the autoIP cameras.
• Verify that the autoIP cameras are connected to the
network, and that the power has been applied.
• Open the autoIP Discovery Tool
• Click “Device Search” to list all of the autoIP cameras on
the network.
• Right click on the desired autoIP camera and select
“Network Setup” to adjust the network settings.
