11.09.25-27 Auxiliary lenses
–
These lenses are mounted by
screwing it into the black verti-
cally objective tube. This tube
has a thread that matches the
corresponding thread of the
lens.
–
The working distance is chan-
ged from the normal app. 9.3
cm to the following distances:
0.5x (15 cm), 1.5x (4.9 cm) and
2x (3.4 cm).
The 0.5x lens possible need
some further adjustment in
order to focus correctly on the
object. This is done by uns-
crewing the two screws on the
lens (placed on each side of the
printed 0.5x) with a small
screwdriver. The lens part is
now loose and can be moved
up and down. Various positions
can be tried until a satisfying
working distance is found.
11.09.29 Photo eyepiece tube
–
This tube is placed in the trino-
cular tube of the model Ste reo -
zoom IT-TR (11.09.11). An eye-
piece (with a diameter of 23mm)
can be placed in the silver-col-
oured part.
–
Look through the eyepieces on
the binocular tube and focus.
Open for the optical path by
pulling the pull back rod on the
side of the optical head. It is a
silver clamp screw. Gently raise
the photo eyepiece tube (and
eyepiece) until the image in the
eyepiece is clear. The small
clamp screw on the side of the
trinocular tube is tightened, the-
reby securing the tube. It is now
possible to use the eyepiece as
an extra inspection tube. It can
also be used for mounting of
11.03.85 universal adapter for
pocket digital cameras.
–
It is sometimes necessary to
make small adjustments, when
the magnification is changed.
11.09.30 Photo adapter for
SLR-camera
A manual for this item can be
found on our web-page

11.09.32 CCD-adapter with
0.5x relay-optics
–
This adapter is mounted on a
camera with a C/CS thread, and
it is then mounted on the trino-
cular tube of the model Ste
-
reozoom IT-TR (11.09.11).
–
Look through the eyepieces on
the binocular tube and focus.
Open for the optical path by
pulling the pull back rod on the
side of the optical head. It is a
silver clamp screw. Gently raise
the a camera until the
image from the camera is clear.
The small clamp screw on the
side of the trinocular tube is tig-
htened, thereby securing the
tube.
–
For cameras with a 1/3” chip,
the adapter is normally placed
approximately 3.7 cm from the
metal ring of the C/CS-mount to
the top of the tube. The distan-
ce is approximately 12.5 cm for
cameras with a ½” chip.
–
It is sometimes necessary to
use an extra adapter ring (often
delivered with the camera), or
make some small adjustments
on the camera, before the image
is perfect.
–
Extra adjustments can also be
necessary if the magnification is
changed on the stereo micro
-
scope.
11.09.35 Darkfield condenser
The darkfield condenser is a speci-
al designed condenser where the
light is blocked away in the centre.
This means that the light cone is
hollow (or ring shaped). The light is
therefore send up in an angle thro-
ugh the glass. It will not reach the
objectives if it only passes through
glass. The light will however refract
when it hits an organism or similar,
and then it will hit the objectives.
The end result is a bright organism
seen on a black background.
The frosted glass stage plate is
removed from the stage, and the
darkfield condenser is placed in the
depression. Tighten the small
clamp screw to secure the conden-
ser. Use the transmitted light as the
main light source. The darkfield
condenser is centred by pushing
the top of the condenser, until the
dark disc is centred. A Petri dish or
similar with for example daphnia is
placed on the darkfield condenser,
and it is now possible to see them
on illuminated but on a dark
background. Adjust the transmitted
light. Please notice that the halogen
bulb generates a lot of heat, and
the specimen will therefore be
heated.
11.09.36 Polarisation set
The polarisation set consists of two
filters (a polarisator and an analysa-
tor). The large filter is mounted by
screwing it into the black vertically
objective tube. This tube has a
thread that matches the corre-
sponding thread of the filter. The
small filter is placed in the depres-
sion instead of the frosted glass
stage plate. Only the transmitted
light source is used.
Each filter aligns the light, and it
gives a dark background if the fil-
ters are turned opposite each other.
