Note:
The seal can harden over time and
no longer seal properly. Steam will then
escape from the rim of the lid and the
seal must be replaced. A new seal can
be obtained via the customer service
address.
3. Fill the lower part of the pan with food.
• In order to prevent the appliance being
damaged, there must always be at least
0.2 l of liquid or some oil or fat in the
lower part so that the pan does not over-
heat.
4. Place the pan on the stove and select the
highest setting.
5. After the water has boiled or the food
has been roasted gently, choose the
lowest heat setting.
6. Place the lid
6
onto the lower part of the
pan
9
in such a way that the lid handle
2
is at 90 degrees to the designer
handles
5
.
7. Push the clasps
4
inwards completely to
close the lid.
You can comfortably watch your food
cook through the viewing window
3
.
8. The heat setting can be adjusted:
– the steam valve
1
should let as little
steam as possible escape.
– the food should only boil (simmer)
very gently.
4.2 Steaming
Steaming is a particularly gentle way of
preparing food, especially for vegetables.
When you steam, the food comes into
contact with hot steam, but not with water.
This prevents minerals, vitamins and other
important elements being lost from the food.
Steamed vegetables also have a significantly
more intense taste than boiled vegetables.
1. Place the tripod
11
in the lower part of
the pan
9
.
2. Fill it with enough water that the tripod is
not quite covered.
3. Place your food in the steamer insert
10
.
4. Place the steamer insert on the tripod.
5. Follow the steps described on page 11
in "4.1 Cooking".
4.3 Opening the low pressure pot
You can fully open the lid at any time as you
are used to doing with conventional
saucepans.
Note:
The more often you open the pot the
less energy you will save.
The steam valve
1
constantly balances the
pressure between the inside and outside.
This avoids all risks that can occur in
pressure cookers because of excess
pressure.
Note:
If the pot is left closed for an extended
period of time after cooking, a light vacuum
can build up inside due to the cooling of air.
As a result, the lid may not open. If this is the
case, do as follows:
1. Take an oven cloth, as the safety valve is
hot.
2. Using the oven cloth, wiggle the red stick
on the valve
1
a little. Air will flow into
the pot, and the lid can then be opened
easily.
