Rubber Throat Slide Adjustment

The rubber throat slide, as shown in

, should be positioned so there is 1/4" to 1/2" clearance

between the edge of the slide and the outer lips of the buckets. Proper adjustment will minimize one cause
of down-legging.

IMPORTANT: For lap or butt spliced belt, increase the clearance dimension between the rubber throat

slide and the buckets by the thickness of the belt to compensate for the double belt
thickness.
