Installation Overview
There are multiple options for connecting the T/RH cables and supplying power to the GrainVue Cable
Monitoring System. These options are outlined below. Corresponding hardware will be provided for your
installation, based on the options selected at the time the system(s) were ordered.
Power Supplies
1. Battery (Solar) Powered: This method requires no supplemental power to the Cable Monitoring
Hub. The battery and solar panel that are included in the Hub assembly will provide the necessary
power.
2. Cable Monitoring Power Supply Unit: This method requires the installation of the Cable
Monitoring Power Supply Unit.
3. Fan Control Module: This method requires the installation of the Fan Control Module. This power
supply is installed in the case where fan control is included as a feature of the system. Therefore, it
will require additional installation steps, including the installation of the Plenum and Outdoor Sensor
Switch Enclosure.
T/RH Cable Connections
1. Single Cable: This method simply requires the connection of a single T/RH cable directly to the
Cable Monitoring Hub.
2. Mux Whip: This method requires the installation of the Mux Whip which is then used to connect
multiple T/RH cables to the Cable Monitoring Hub using pre-terminated extension cables.
3. Mux Box: This method requires the installation of the Mux Box which is then used to connect
multiple T/RH cables to the Cable Monitoring Hub. For connection to the Mux Box, extension cables
will need to stripped, as specified in this guide.
Order of Operation
The following order of operations will be followed throughout the Guide, no matter the power supply or
cable connection options chosen for your system(s).
1. Cable Monitoring Hub Installation
2. Power Supply Installation
3. Cable Connection Installation for T/RH Cables
4. Cable Monitoring Hub Activation
