General GCE Sampler Troubleshooting
Symptom
Possible Cause
Corrective Action
Sampler does not cycle
(Power light OFF).
Power switch OFF.
Turn power switch ON.
Circuit breaker is open.
Reset breaker.
Main fuse is blown.
Replace.
Faulty supply wiring.
Correct. Refer to certified electrical
schematic.
Defective power switch.
Replace switch.
Sampler does not cycle
(Power light ON).
Faulty system wiring.
Correct. Refer to certified electrical
schematic.
Motor power OFF.
Turn ON.
Motor starter heaters tripped.
Reset.
Motor burnt out.
Replace.
Motor thermal overload tripped.
Allow motor to cool and reset.
Defective timer T-1.
Replace timer if line voltage is present
across #1 and #2 on timer T-1.
Sampler leaks air or material
continuously out the sample
discharge.
Sample cutter not stopping under
the seals.
