Dolby operating modes
Depending on which loudspeakers are connected, the television switches to one
of the following Dolby operating modes when »Dolby Surround« is selected
(see Sound selection, page 22).
Your television is equipped with built-in front loudspeakers, a built-in-sub-woo-
fer and external Surround loudspeakers.
Dolby Surround ProLogic, Dolby Digital
Five loudspeakers are needed for playback of Dolby Digital/Dolby Surround
Prologic:
Left/right front loudspeakers, center loudspeaker, Surround loudspeakers (supp-
lied) and, optionally, a subwoofer for transmitting the low frequency effect
channel (LFE) from Dolby Digital.
It is also possible to use the built-in front loudspeaker of the television as a cen-
ter loudspeaker instead of an external center loudspeaker. In this case, external
front loudspeakers must be connected.
Dolby 3 Stereo
To play back Dolby 3 Stereo, three loudspeakers are needed:
Left/right front loudspeakers, center loudspeaker.
It is also possible to use the built-in front loudspeaker of the television as a cen-
ter loudspeaker instead of an external center loudspeaker. In this case, external
front loudspeakers must be connected.
Pseudo Surround
In order to play back Pseudo Surround, four loudspeakers are needed:
Left/right front loudspeakers, Surround loudspeakers.
This Dolby operating mode is used for mono programmes, for example.
