Measure soft dot
This mode allows you to correct the value in the 50% area within -10% and 0%. All measurement values over and below 50% will then be
adapted. No correction is possible for 0% and 100%. The correction adapts the measuring value of soft dots to their real size.
With this function, non-printable dots (characterized by their low density, can not be reproduced on plate and press) can be eliminated.
This can also be used to adapt the iCFilm to a dot reference with a true 50% dot area (i.e. UGRA Plate Control Wedge, RIT Microline
Resolution Target, etc.).
• Zero the device (see section 8.2).
• Select "SOFT DOT" function by using button
B
as often as necessary.
• Select the adjustment mode by pressing buttons
A
and
B
simultaneously and keep them pressed until “SOFT DOT ADJ” is displayed.
• Press shortly button
A
. Place the required dot % area patch on the measuring aperture.
• Press the iCFilm down until the digital value e.g. 54.0 is displayed.
• Use buttons A or B to adjust the iCFilm to the requested value e.g. 50.0:

to reduce the displayed value
Press button
B
to increase the displayed value
• Select function "SOFT DOT" by pressing button
A
and
B
simultaneously.
• Any amount of soft dot % measurements can now be made.
