ABOUT BLOOD PRESSURE
Q: What is the difference between systolic pressure and diastolic pressure?
A: When ventricles contract and pump blood out of the heart, the blood
pressure reaches its maximum value in the cycle, which is called systolic
pressure. When the ventricles relax, the blood pressure reaches its
minimum value in the cycle, which is called diastolic pressure.
Q: Does it matter which wrist I use
when measuring?
A: It is acceptable to use either wrist
when measuring. However, to obtain
the most consistent readings possible,
it is suggested that you use the same
wrist each time you measure your
blood pressure.
