Shipping Top Link Removal

If the planter is configured with lift assist, it is
necessary to remove the shipping top link in the 3-
point hitch. This top link has been included only for
the purpose of shipping the planter. Planters with lift
assist will need a 2-point hitch all operations.
1. Loosen the four or six bolts (1), washers (2), and

nuts (3), and remove the front top link plate (4)
and rear top link plate (5).

2. Remove and discard shipping top link parts.



Height Switch

Crushing Hazard

Exercise  extreme  caution  when  adjusting
the  height  switch.  You  may  be  severely
injured  or  killed  by  being  crushed  by  the
planter and its components.

When the hydraulic drive planter is raised,
the switch state is ignored during FILL DISK
and 5 REV TEST operations. See your
console manual for more information.

The  height  switch  informs  the  seed  monitoring
system if the planter is raised or lowered on planters
configured  with  ground  drive.  On  all  planters,  the
seed monitoring system only counts seed when the
planter  is  lowered  and  the  drive  is  activated.  On
hydraulic and electric drive planters, the height switch
also enables or disables the drive.

Install Height Switch Kit (413-063S)

The Height Switch Kit (413-063S) can be mounted
in a variety of ways to accommodate the customer’s
preferences. Three brackets are included in the kit,
any one bracket or combination of brackets may be
used to mount the whisker switch sensor. Do not
discard any unused brackets. Any unused brackets
need to be stored with the planter and given to the
customer upon delivery.

To install the height switch:
1. The brackets have several options for mounting

for the height switch sensor (A) and multiple
options for mounting the magnet (B). Chose the
best option for your preferences, only one
example is shown.
