Trimming the model
To achieve optimal running behaviour for the model, the height and angle of the outboard motors can be
adjusted to a certain degree. The rudder deflection of the outboard should not exceed 5 to 6°. In this regard,
the use of a computer RC system is particularly practical and simple. After EACH trip, remove splash water
from the outboard motor to keep it from oxidising.
Maiden voyage
Charge the batteries, and test the functions of the model. Secure the cover with tape, so that it can not fall
down and so that no water can get into the model. Now you can start the maiden voyage.
During the maiden voyage, start slowly; first get familiar with the sailing behaviour. Test the steering
behaviour, stopping distance, and range.
If the model begins to "hop" when running fast, change the position of the drive mechanism until the model
runs smoothly again, or move the batteries forward.
Have fun running your model Rhode Island.
