5. RADIO OPERATION

This set is designed to play only compact
discs bearing this

identification logo

(logo must say DIGITAL AUDIO).
1. Set the Function Switch to the CD

position, the Display will show "

".

2. Lift and open the CD door by pressing

the CD door open button.

3. Insert a CD with the

side

If

the disc is upside down, the Display will
show "

").

4. Close the CD Door by pushing the Door

down with your finger.

5. The Display will show the total number

of tracks (songs) on the CD.

6. To start the music, press the CD

Play/Pause Button (wait a few seconds
for music to start). The first track
number "1" will appear in the Display,
the PLAY/PAUSE Indicator will light and
the disc will start playing.

7. To pause the music, press the

Play/Pause Button, the CD Play/Pause
indicator will flash to remind you that
you are in pause mode.

8. To resume the music from pause mode,

press the Play/Pause Button again. The
CD Play/Pause indicator will stop
flashing.

9. To stop playing music, press the CD

Stop Button.

10. To turn off the unit, set the Function

Switch to TAPE position and make
sure none of the tape keys are
pressed in.

Always stop the CD player by

using the CD Stop Button before you take
the disc out of the compartment.

If you hit or move the CD during

play, the music will stop for a second or
two and then start again. This is normal
for all portable CD players.

6. LISTENING TO A COMPACT DISC

PLAYING A COMPACT DISC

1. Set the FUNCTION switch to the RADIO

position, the POWER Indicator will light
up.

2. Select the desired band with the BAND

switch.

4. The built-in MW antenna and external

FM TELESCOPIC ANTENNA are
directional.

5. Adjust the volume level to a comfortable

listening level.

6. To turn off the radio, set the FUNCTION

switch to the TAPE or CD position.

3. Tune to the desired station by rotating

the TUNING control (rotate that control
back and forth until you get the
strongest and clearest reception).

When you are receiving an FM

b r o a d c a s t , f u l l y e x t e n d t h e
TELESCOPIC ANTENNA and
rotate it for the best reception.
For MW broadcast, rotate the whole

set until the best reception is heard.

If a particular FM (STEREO) station
is weak, or you hear too much
background noise, move the band
selector switch to the FM (MONO)
position.
When the band selector switch is
set to FM STEREO and a stereo
broadcast is on the air, the FM
STEREO indicator will be lit.
