Care & cleaning
CAUTION
:
THE CONNECTOR MUST BE
REMOVED
BEFORE
CLEANING
THE
FRYPAN.
DO NOT IMMERSE CONTROLLER IN WATER
OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. ENSURE INLET IS
DRIED BEFORE FRYPAN IS USED AGAIN.
USE
ONLY
THE
APPROPRIATE
CONTROLLER.
The controller may be hot after use, in particular
the metal probe, take care when removing it.
Always turn off power and remove plug from
outlet before cleaning. Let the Fry Pan cool
before washing it. NEVER PUT COLD WATER
INTO A HOT FRY PAN.
CONNECTOR/CONTROLLER
If you need to clean the controller, remove
from pan and wipe with a damp cloth.
Ensure you dry controller completely before
using again.
GLASS LID
Wash lid in warm soapy water. Use a soft
sponge. DO NOT USE METAL SCOURING
PADS. Rinse and dry thoroughly. When the lid
is hot take care not to place it on cold surfaces
or into cold water as this temperature differential
may cause the lid to crack.
STAINLESS SURFACE
While it is very durable, stainless steel does
require care to maintain its good looks.
Before first use:
hand wash, rinse, dry well to
remove any manufacturing residue.
After every use:
hand wash in clean warm
water and mild detergent, rinse and dry well. If
you fill pan with hot water and leave for a few
minutes after cooking, it will be easier to clean.
If you do not clean the Fry Pan after use, it will
result in a build-up of food residue, making it
difficult to clean later.
Periodically
: use a powdered cleaner or
polisher for stainless steel. Follow the
“grain” of
the stainless steel.
DO NOT
use steel wool, a wire brush, bleach or
abrasive cleaners. Steel wool can leave
particles of steel on the surface, and these can
cause rust marks.
Metal utensils may scratch the surface of the
stainless steel; this is quite normal and occurs
with all stainless steel. We recommend plastic
or wooden utensils.
“Hard” water can cause a discolouration on
stainless steel.
If stainless steel becomes dull looking, you may
refresh it by sprinkling it with baking soda while
the surface is wet. Gently rub the bowl, then
rinse and thoroughly dry.
To remove stubborn food residue
, use a
stainless steel powder cleaner, or other
available product stating they are safe to use on
stainless surfaces. Baking soda is also useful
for removing stubborn food stains. Sprinkle
baking soda liberally over stainless. Add enough
water to moisten baking soda. Let pan sit for 2-3
hours. Rinse pan. Wash pan in warm water with
mild dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly. After
using this method, you will need to re-season
the frypan.
Burnt on food
. Half fill pan with water. Cover.
Simmer for a few minutes until the burnt-on food
become softs and lifts up. If it does not soften,
turn off pan after a few minutes then leave to
soak overnight. Then wash and dry as usual.
After using this method, you will need to re-
season the frypan.
Do not leave plastic or wooden utensils in the
pan while it is hot.
Do not cut directly on the stainless surface.
DO NOT place the frypan, controller or lid in the
dishwasher.
NOTE:
If frying with oil, etc. use extreme caution. If the
oil is over-heated, it may catch on fire. Should
this occur, DO NOT try to extinguish the fire with
water as this will spread the fire. Instead, cover
the Fry Pan with the lid, or in more extreme
cases, with a fire blanket, and the flames will
extinguish.
This Electric Frying Pan IS NOT suitable for
deep frying.
The indicator light on the controller will turn on
while the pan is heating and will turn off when
the pan has reached the desired set
temperature. You will notice during cooking that
the indicator light will turn on and off at different
intervals which indicates the temperature setting
is being maintained.
