5 Active CAN Repeater
The active CAN repeater from GO Systemelektronik is a module for expanding the CAN bus structure.
The active CAN repeater has eight galvanically isolated bus lines. Each of these bus lines can connect up to
five elements
on a length of up to 1000 m. The connections of the 8 bus lines are called port 1 to port; the
transmission rate of each bus line is 50 kbit/s. If required, the individual bus elements can be provided with an
independent power supply.
Long cable lengths are not recommended for safety-relevant applications.
The connection is made via clamp sockets on the board slots. The termination of the single bus lines is carried
out with DIP switches on the left side of the slots. The repeater itself is terminated or not, depending on its
position in the CAN-bus.
It is recommended to terminate unused ports.
