SERVICE PARTS
IDENTIFICATION LABEL
T h e Truck S ervice Parts Identification Label is provided
on all m odels (figure 1). It is located on th e inside of the
glove box door (or on an inner body panel for Forward
C o n tro l m o d e ls ). T h e L a b e l lis ts th e V IN (V e h ic le
Identification N u m b er), w h e elb a se , paint inform ation and
all P roduction options or S p e c ia l E q u ip m e n t on the
vehicle w hen it was shipped from th e factory. ALW AYS

PARTS.
VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
NUMBER
T h e V IN is the legal identifier of the vehicle. O n all
m odels except Forward C ontrol, it is located on a plate
which is attach ed to the left top of th e instrum ent panel
and can be seen through the w indshield from th e outside
of the vehicle (figure 2). O n Forward Control m odels, the
plate is on the dash and toe p anel. To find out the

m anufacturer, m odel and chassis type, en g in e type, G V W
range, m odel year, plant code, and sequ ential num ber,
refer to figure 3.
CERTIFICATION LABEL
T h e Certification Label shows the G V W R , and th e front
and rear G A W R s, and th e Payload R ating for your vehicle
(figure 4).
G ro ss V e h ic le W eig h t (G V W ) is th e w eig h t of th e
orginally eq u ip p ed vehicle and all item s ad d ed to it after-it
has left the factory. T his would include bodies, w inches,
boom s, etc.; the driver and all occupants; and th e load the
v e h ic le is c a rry in g . T h e G V W m u st not e x c e e d th e
G V W R . Also, th e front and rear gross axle w eights must
not exceed th e front and rear G A W R s.
T h e Payload Rating shown on th e label is th e m axim um
allow able cargo load (including th e w eight of th e driver
and all occupants) that th e vehicle can carry based on all
