Water Filling
1. Open a hot water faucet nearby to permit the air to escape.
2. Open the cold water inlet valve fully, filling the heater and the piping.
3. Close the hot water faucet when water flows.
4. Check all the connections to see if there is any leakage, drain the Water Heater
completely, repair the leaking joint and then refill the Water Heater.
Electrical Connections
Make sure that the power cord and plug are connected with this water heater. Find
a separate socket for power plug and make sure the socket is in firm contact with
the plug. Ensure that reliable earthing has been done.
Caution:
•
Connect the water heater using independent sockets. Do not use adapters.
Use multimeter to check whether the live line and neutral line are not
reverse, to ensure complete safety.
•
Before installing the water heater confirm that the power of water heater
matches electric meter capacity and supply wire.
•
The water heater should be earthed reliably. It is prohibited to connect the
earth wire to neutral wire or tap water pipe.
•
Performance of the water heater will vary depending upon the Total
dissolved Solids (TDS) content of water in the location and can have
determined effect on the life of water Heater.
•
After installation, Heat the water in the tank and drain it after the cut off.
Do this activity twice and then use the water for further purpose. This
activity helps to clean and rinse the inside of tank before the first usage.
Draining
It is recommended that the tank be drained and flushed out every 6-9 months to
remove sediment which may build up during operation. The water heater should be
drained if being shut down during winter season.
For draining water from the water heater, following steps needs to be followed:
1. Switch off the electric supply to the water heater.
2. Open the hot water taps until the water is not hot any more.
3. Close cold water supply.
4. Drain the water by moving the lever of safety valve in the direction of the arrow
as indicated in the diagram.
Caution: Before using the water heater, make sure that it should be
completely filled with water.
Please turn off the power supply to the water heater prior to draining the
water heater.
Warning: This water heater should not be operated with insufficient
amount of water.
Failure to do so may result in damage to the water heater & injuries to the
users. This will also make the warranty null & void.
Maintenance
• If the water heater is not in use frequently then there are chances of foul smell
due to reaction of natural sulphates found in water with certain micro organism
(bacteria) and/or generation of sediments in the tank. It is recommended to flush
out the tank 2-3 times by heating the water above 60 degree.
• There are chances of hissing, cracking, popping sounds from water heater, this
is probable because of mineral deposits accumulated on bottom of tanks. It is
recommended to flush the tank periodically on regular basis.
• It is recommended that the inlet, outlet pipes and heating elements be descaled
every 6 months. For descaling of tank use washing soda only.
• If the supply cord is damaged it should be replaced by a special cord or
assembly available from authorized service centre only.
• To avoid deposition of salts in the safety valve, please move the lever up and
down few times. This should be done at-least once a month.
• Your water Heater comes with MgO Anode Rod. It is recommended to replace
it every 6 months. This helps to maintain the long life of water heater tanks,
preventing from corrosion/leakages.
4. Connect the hot water pipe to the outlet (Red Cap).
5. Attach the discharge tube to safety valve as shown in installation diagram. (Fig.1)
Attention: Make sure a suitable sealing tape is used for all connections to prevent leakage.
1. Water heater need to be installed at least 2 feet away from walls, ceiling and floor
for optimum performance of the product
2. Optimum performance of the water heater is achieved when the total hardness of
water is <400 ppm and chloride content is <300 ppm
3. Anode to be checked periodically within a frequency of 6 months if found
consumed should be replaced on chargeable basis.
4. Water heater should not be switched on if there is a possibility of water frozen
inside water heater
