Read all of the instructions before beginning. Make sure you have
all parts and tools you will need. Consult local codes and guidelines.
Local conditions may require a different procedure, the following
instructions should be considered recommended minimums.
CAUTION
- contact your local utility companies to locate burried
electrical, gas, and water lines
before
digging holes for footings.
Also check for overhead utilities.
1.
Locate and dig footings for each upright. Pole location is shown
on page 1. Poles are permanently set in concrete. Confirm all
locations before setting. Pour a flat, 12" deep concrete pad in the
bottom of the formwork and let it set hard.
Center the pole on concrete pad. Use 2x4s or scaffolding to secure
the pole in a level and plumb position. Brace in both directions.
Pour concrete around the outside of the pole to the top of the hole
being careful not to move the pole. Protect the pole from damage
during pouring.
The footer size is to be determined by the architect/engineer and is
based on local codes and soil conditions. The footer must also be
designed and built to withstand a minimum of 1,300 lbf of shear and
a moment of 12,300 lb-ft (@ 90 MPH wind).
IMPORTANT!!!
-
Poles must be set so the bottom tab is
facing in towards the net. Bottom tab should be set 4-1/2"
above the ground. See DETAIL A and B
