The SkyEdge II-c Capricorn MEC CPE is meant to be installed in a 19-inch rack. The CPE
should be inserted in the rack and secured using rack-mount ears.
The CPE can be installed with either front or rear panel facing forward. By default, the CPE is
supplied with rack-mount front ears secured to the front panel. The installation kit includes an
additional pair of rack-mount back ears for securing to the CPE rear panel to install the CPE
with the rear panel facing forward. The CPE may contain a built DC Inserter.
VSAT AC and DC power supplies are provided by Gilat. If the power to the VSAT
is not through an AC or DC adaptor (e.g., batteries, solar panels, rectifier ETC), the
power solution must be approved by the Gilat Technical Support.
The CPE power connection can be of two types:
•
Using Gilat power cables (CB000912) that includes 7A fuse on the “+” wire.
OR
•
Using power cable (2 pieces) provided by a customer (length ~2m, AWG 16/18, fuse
7A). In this case, Gilat supplies connectors for power cables (CN000269 x 4 pieces,
CN000262 x 2 pieces).
