Writing text messages
A
single
text message can be up to 160 characters long. If your text is longer, it will
automatically
be sent as a
linked
message. Up to four messages with 153 characters
each can be linked. This means you can enter up to 612 characters. Bear in mind that
linked messages incur correspondingly higher charges.
Remember
that the service provider cannot deliver a text message that contains Greek
or Cyrillic characters. You will therefore need to choose a different input language.
When you have opened the input field for the text message, press the
©
display key.
From the menu, select
Select Language
and then press
[
to confirm your selection.
Next, select an input language and confirm your selection with
[
. Then briefly press
the End call key

twice to return to the input field. The input language setting only
applies to the current SMS.
Write a text messages as follows:
The
EATONI
(page 140) predictive text feature helps you write your message.
The

icon tells you if EATONI is activated (default setting: on). You can turn EATONI off
at any time using

If you receive a text message that is incomplete (e. g. because your
telephone memory is full), you will be notified of this.
The counter indicates how many more characters you can enter.
It counts down from 612 characters (the max. number of charac-
ters allowed with linked messages).
The number in brackets indicates the message you are in
(for linked messages). You are in the second message.
EATONI predictive text is activated.
