Protecting the telephone from unauthorised access
Protect the phone system settings with a system PIN known only to you. If a system
PIN is
not equal to 0000
, you have to enter it if you register or de-register a handset,
change local network settings, perform a firmware update or reset the phone to
default settings.
Changing the system PIN
You can change the phone's 4-digit system PIN (default setting: 0000) to a 4-digit
PIN known only by you.

Entering your own local area code
Please note the following for local calls (calls using the local fixed line):
u
For local calls using your fixed line, you generally (depending on the exchange)
do not have to dial an area code. All the calls in the call list are saved with area
codes, for example. In order to be able to call a caller from the call list back, you
have to save the local area code in the phone for the area your phone is in (
Local
Area Code
). If your phone is in a "multiple area code" area, you also have to enter
the other area codes for this
area as
Extra Codes
.
u
You have to dial the area code for local calls using your VoIP connection. If you
have saved your local area code in the phone and activated the
code for local calls via VoIP
option using the Web configurator
,
when numbers are dialled without a local area code, the local area code that has
been entered is included automatically (e.g., when dialling from the directory).
