Updating BIOS
Award’s BIOS ROM has a built-in setup program that allows users to modify the basic
system configuration. The information is stored in battery-backed memory (CMOS
RAM) so, it retains the setup information even when the power is turned off.
The updating procedures are as the following:
1.
It is recommended that you should copy the utility “AWDFLASH.EXE” in driver CD
and BIOS binary files into a floppy disk or a USB disk drive. Alternatively, you can
copy these two files into the directory that you have made in hard disk.
2.
Restart your computer into MS-DOS mode or command prompt only for windows,
then move into the directory where the new BIOS file located and use the utility
AWDFLASH.EXE to update the BIOS.
3.
Type “AWDFLASH new bios filename” under the prompt.
4.
Turn off the power after the system updates the BIOS.
5.
Turn on the power again.
