External Accent Lighting
(Using Light Wands)
Included are three different color LED light wands; white, blue, and green. This
auxiliary lighting can highlight the color and facets of precious stones. Hold
directly in the box and close to the stone. Crop out the wand using the camera
zoom or afterward in the camera editing mode or by using photo editing
software such as Photoshop
Holding the Light Wand close to jewelry.
Propping Up Jewelry
In order to shoot subjects in various positions try using Gesswein Positioning
Wax (Item# 817-0758), clear tape, or fishing line. Use Positioning Wax or
tape to position the jewelry to the floor or back of the lightbox. Fishing line
may be used to hang jewelry from top opening; to keep it steady allow the
piece to touch the floor. If done carefully these props will not show.
Camera Settings
To achieve better photographic results, the use of cameras with “White
Balance” and “Manual Exposure” features is recommended.
On cameras that allow you to set the white light balance, enter 5000k for the
color temperature or follow camera instructions for setting white light balance.
Color adjustments can also be made afterward using the camera editing mode
or by using software such as Photoshop.
