MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Important Notes:
If installed outside it is important to guard against frost. If water is allowed to freeze in the bubbler and / or boKle filler valves permanent
damage will be caused. Claims for internal mechanism damage cannot be accepted.
Surface contamina on and the forma on of deposits must be prevented. Such deposits may contain minute par cles of iron leF over from the
installa on and not removed un l aFer the stainless steel items have been fixed. Industrial and even naturally occurring atmospheric condi ons
can produce deposits which can be equally corrosive, e.g. salt deposits in marine condi ons.
Maintenance and Frequency of Cleaning:
All grades of stainless steel can stain and discolour due to surface deposits and must never be accepted as completely maintenance free. In
order to achieve maximum corrosion resistance the surface of the stainless steel must be kept clean.
These drinking fountains are manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel and are not suitable for installa on in environments such as
swimming pool areas, where the chlorinated atmosphere will cause discoloura on of the stainless steel and internal components.
When cleaning, a specialist stainless steel cleaner is recommended. Do not use cleaning agents containing chlorine.
The frequency and cost of cleaning stainless steel is lower than for many other materials and this will oFen outweigh the fact that stainless
steel has a higher ini al cost. There are no hard or fast rules in regard to cleaning frequency but cleaning with appropriate cleaning agents will
almost always restore the original appearance.
Spare Parts:
Gentworks supplies replacement bubblers and swan-neck boKle/cup filler valves for all our stainless steel drinking fountain products. The most
common reason for having to replace a valve, or the cartridge within the valve, is that a fountain has been exposed to cold weather before the
fountain was drained. Cartridges are available separately should freezing damage the original one supplied with the fountain.
