INSTALL FRAME EXTENDERS
-Facing either side of the generator (side the wheels are on), take a measurement from the outside edge of the rear vertical
frame member to the furthest bolt holding the front foot to the generator (Fig. B).
If this measurement is 23” or more, you will install the Ridgid RD Frame extender at the bolt location.
If this measurement is less than 23”, place a mark in the center of the lower frame at least 23” (25”+ preferred) from
the rear vertical frame member and drill a pilot hole using the 5/32” bit.
Repeat for opposite side, ensuring the distances from the rear vertical frame member are the same.
- Install lower part of frame extender (the hole side, not the slot side) using either the foot bolt or a sheet metal screw,
depending which option you used above. Do not completely tighten at this time (Fig C).
Large hole in frame extender is pointed outward; small hole butts against the frame and the bolt or sheet metal screw
passes through the large hole, and then tightens through the small hole. The large hole is meant to accommodate a
nut or screw driver for easy access to the bolt or screw.
- Swing frame extender to a vertical position (Fig C). Through the slot, mark the center of the frame tube where the extender
crosses the frame. Drill a pilot hole at this location. Then using a sheet metal screw and a nut driver or screw driver, tighten
the frame extender at this location.
- Tighten the lower bolt or screw
- Repeat this process for the opposite side
