OPERATION
1.
Plug power cord into wall outlet, open the door and place objects
to sterilize inside the chamber on either bottom or upper shelf.
Items on upper shelf will be more readily exposed to UV light
radiation, and items on lower shelf will be more exposed to ozone
gas (heavier than air).
NOTE
: because the CoolCLAVE™ BLUE uses UV light and ozone gas,
you are able to safely and effectively sterilize the surfaces of most
types of materials such as plastics, metals, paper products, pipet
tip boxes, and even agar plates. The CoolCLAVE BLUE is not able to
sterilize any liquids or solutions.
2.
Close the CoolCLAVE BLUE door and press the Power Button until it clicks in place; digital display will show “00”.
3.
To select the cycle time, press the Timer Button once (15-min. run time), twice (30 min.) three times (45 min.), and four times
(60 min.).
4.
The Display will show the selected run time, and the UV bulb will automatically turn on and start to count down.
NOTE
: the unit’s door is equipment with a safety switch that will automatically turn the unit off if the door is opened during a
run cycle.
5.
Once the cycle is finished, open the door of the unit while keeping face away so to avoid inhaling ozone gas. Air the chamber
slightly and remove your items for use.
PERFORMANCE
Graph on the right shows performance tests on a CoolCLAVE
Blue Unit. Typical ozone levels expected average 55 ppm.
