Configuring SC-ADT for Any Application
The following procedure configures the SC-ADT for deployment in your network regardless of the
port applications. Perform the procedures in this section, then configure the front and rear panel
ports for the desired application, as described later in this chaper. Before you begin, ensure that the
unit has already been initialized as described in the previous section:
Note
Some ADMIN mode configuration commands (i.e., enabling the craft port or setting up user accounts)
cannot be accessed or executed via the web interface.
Note
In the configuration sample below, [brackets] indicate user-defined entries or typical entries. For the default
of any configuration setting, use the online help or refer to the listing in
Appendix A, Application Guidelines
.

System and Device Settings
The remaining steps use default values pre-loaded in the SC-ADT unit. If the default value applies
to your network, you do not need to re-enter it. Otherwise, enter the value that best suits your
network environment. Type
?
following any command, sub-command or parameter for context-
sensitive online help.
3. Set the system prompt by typing:
configure prompt
[ADT-16] or [ADT-32]
4. Configure the Inactivity Timer to disconnect a management session after the desired interval
(in seconds) has elapsed. Range is 0 - 10,000 sec, where 0 disables the timer.
configure inactivity
[900]
5. By default, the SC-ADT Telnet end-of-line will send only the carriage return <cr> command
to terminal server ports. If your application also requires a linefeed, <cf><lf>, disable the
default by typing:
configure ports transparent disable
6. By default, the SC-ADT will drop a Telnet session to a port in use. To override a Telnet session
at any port (other than a pooled port), type:
configure ports override enable
