4. The inside diameter of the piping must match the nominal
diameter of the GEMÜ product.
5. The diameter of the pipe flanges should be, in compliance
with the respective nominal size, between "D max" and "D
min" (see table).

10.3 Installation of the standard version
CAUTION
Damage!

Before carrying out any welding on the piping, remove the
butterfly valve to prevent damage to the liner.
1. Shut off plant or plant component.
2. Secure against recommissioning.
3. Depressurize the plant or plant component.
4. Completely drain the plant or plant component and allow it
to cool down until the temperature is below the media va-
porization temperature and cannot cause scalding.
5. Decontaminate, rinse and ventilate the plant or plant com-
ponent properly.
6. Check flange faces for potential damage.
7. Remove any rough areas (rust, dirt, etc.) from the pipe
flanges.
8. Sufficiently spread the pipe flanges.
9. Do not use any flange seals.
