5.1 Disassembly of actuator
WARNING
Actuator top 10 is under spring
pressure!
®
Risk of severe injury or death!

Only open the actuator under a press.
1. Separate actuator from control medium.
®
The actuator is in the open position.
2. Remove sealing plug 25 from actuator
top 10 .
3. Remove O-ring 44 from actuator top 10 .
4. Remove loose compressor 3 .
5. Remove protective caps 29 .
6. Diaphragm size 50:
Remove protective caps 34 .
7. Clamp actuator in a press.
CAUTION
Applied pressure too high!

Risk of breakage of actuator
top 10 !

Only use minimum required
pressure.
8. Diaphragm sizes 25 and 40:
Undo and remove bolts 12 between
actuator top 10 and actuator base 16 .
Diaphragm size 50:
Undo and remove bolts 12 and nuts 35
between actuator top 10 and actuator
base 16.
9. Slowly release the press.
10. Remove actuator top 10 .
Important:
After disassembly, clean all parts
of contamination (do not damage
parts). Check parts for potential
damage, replace if necessary (only
use genuine parts from GEMÜ).
5.2 Replacement of spare parts
1. Disassemble actuator as described in
chapter 5.1, points 1-10.
2. Pull out actuator membrane assembly
manually upwards from actuator
base 16 . The actuator membrane
assembly comprises actuator
spindle 15 including dowel pin 30 and
adapter 31 , hexagon nut 21 , washer 9 ,
upper membrane plate 6 , upper sealing
washer 22 , actuator membrane 14 ,
lower sealing washer 22 , distance
piece 28 (only for diaphragm sizes 40
and 50), O-ring 27 (only for diaphragm
sizes 40 and 50) and lower membrane
plate 6 .
3. Fix actuator spindle 15 .
CAUTION
Damage to the actuator spindle 15
when using unsuitable tools!
®
Damaged actuator spindle 15 can
no longer ful fi l its function.

Clamp actuator spindle 15 in a
vice with soft clamping jaws or
hold it with an appropriate tool
that will not damage the spindle
surfaces.
4. Remove hexagon nut 21 with open-end
wrench SW13.
5. Remove washer 9 .
6. Remove upper membrane plate 6 .
7. Remove upper sealing washer 22 .
8. Remove actuator membrane 14 .
9. Remove lower sealing washer 22 .
10. Diaphragm sizes 40 and 50:
Remove distance piece 28 .
11. Diaphragm size 40: Remove O-rings 27 .
Diaphragm size 50: Remove O-ring 27 .
12. Diaphragm size 40:
Insert new O-rings 27 .
Diaphragm size 50:
Insert new O-ring 27 .
13. Diaphragm sizes 40 and 50:
Insert distance piece 28 .
14. Insert new lower sealing washer 22 .
15. Insert new actuator membrane 14 .
The installation position is optional.
