BASIC SAFETY GUIDELINES
This information must be supplemented by statutory requirements and applicable
technical standards; it does not replace any equipment standards or any possible
additional as well as non-statutory requirements, which have been adopted for
safety reasons.
0.1 Principle and intended use

The machinery/equipment is built according to state-of-the-art technology and
recognized technical safety rules. However, with its use there could be threats to
life and limb of the user or third party or there could be damage to the machinery
and other property.

The machinery/equipment is only to be used in proper working order as well as
with cognizance of its intended use, safety and potential dangers and with operat-
ing instructions in mind! In particular, defects that may affect safety must be im-
mediately eliminated!

The machinery/equipment is intended exclusively for generating electricity.
Another or additional use is not intended.

The manufacturer/supplier is not liable for any damages resulting from this. The
user alone bears the risk.

With respect to the intended use, the operating instructions and compliance with
inspection and maintenance regulations are to be kept in mind.

Organisational measures

The operating instructions are to be kept on hand at the machinery/equipment’s
operating site!

In addition to the operating instructions, generally applicable statutory and other
binding regulations on accident prevention and environmental protection are to be
complied with and such obligations may also concern/involve, for example, the
handling of hazardous materials, the provision/wearing of personal protective
equipment and the observance of road traffic regulations.

Operating instructions supplement directives including supervisory and reporting
requirements to take into account operational characteristics, e.g. regarding work
organisation, work processes, employed personnel.

Personnel contracted to work on the machinery must, before beginning work,
read the operating instructions and, in particular, the chapter on safety guidelines.
This is especially applicable on occasions, for example when persons are actively
equipping and servicing the machinery.

At least occasionally the safety and danger cognizance of the work of personnel
must be checked in accordance with the operating instructions!

Personnel may not wear their long hair down, wear loose clothing or jewellery, in-
cluding rings.
