Push the connector into the microphone until it clicks.
2. Make sure you are connecting to a balanced audio device, be sure to use balanced configuration on
the XLR type connectors. Pin 1 = Ground (Shield), Pin 2 = Positive (Hot), Pin 3 = Negative (Cold).
3. To unplug the connector from the microphone, press the tab before pulling the connector out from
the microphone.
MICROPHONE USE
MICROPHONE USE
1. The supplied shock mount has a standard 3/8” thread insert so you can mount the microphone on
almost every commercial stand or suspension with a 3/8” thread. To fix the shock mount on a stand
with 5/8” thread, remove the thread insert and screw the shock mount directly on the stand. Open
the shock mount by pressing the two circular levers, then insert the GECKO® SATELLITE SRM
2020 from above.
2. Set the volume control of your sound reinforcement system to minimum position, connect the
GECKO® SATELLITE SRM 2020 to an external phantom power supply (DC +48V) unit if your mixing
board does not come with one and turn on the phantom switch.
3. Start off referencing by setting the mixing console channel's gain/trim all the way down and its EQ
set flat, then bring the channel fader and main stereo output faders up to 0dB position, after that
slowly bring up the gain/trim until you get the desired level. Ensure that your sound reinforcement
system's amplification level is set accordingly.
4. To minimize the chance of feedback (a loud howling or squealing noise), ensure that the head of the
microphone is not covered by hand or positioned close to the loudspeaker.
5. For best result, be sure to use a pop filter or the supplied windscreen.
6. Due to the high sensitivity of the cartridge, do not drop or apply strong shock to it.
7. To maintain the sensitivity and quality of sound reproduction, avoid exposure to moisture and
extreme temperatures.
8. The GECKO® SATELLITE SRM 2020 can be used for instrument and vocal miking, i.e. lead/solo
vocals, backing vocals/choir, speeches, strings, woodwinds, brasses, percussions, and also backline
amplifiers miking.
CAUTIONS :
Do not connect the GECKO® SATELLITE SRM 2020 to any power
supply other than a phantom power source (input with phantom power or external
IEC standard phantom power supply) with a floating connector, using a balanced
cable (i.e. GECKO® TRUTH T3AL Audiophile Signal Cable) with studio grade
connectors to IEC 268-12 (i.e. GECKO® OLYMPIAN Audiophile Connectors) only.
This is the only way to ensure safe and reliable operation.
