WARNING:
Before you begin disconnect power to
refrigerator.
Turn off the water supply.
Do not operate the refrigerator until the
installation is complete.
TOOLS REQUIRED:

2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
• Disassemble freezer components in order to
access the fill tube components.
• Disconnect fill tube heater, remove heater,
washer, and grounding plate. Discard washer.
• Pull tube out of grommet and discard.
• Using fill tube/heater assembly from kit, slide
grounding plate onto end of fill tube which
will be inserted into grommet. See Figure 1.
KIT WR49X10093 CONTAINS:
• 1 fill tube/foil heater assembly
• 1 grommet
• 1 connector adapter
• 1 heater sleeve
• 1 fill tube cover
• 4 wire ties

1 DETERMINE WHICH REPAIRS
ARE NEEDED
Note:
Access to the back of the unit is required
to replace grommet. GE recommends two
technicians move the refrigerator in order to
replace the fill tube grommet.
• Replace wire heater with a foil type heater in
all bottom-freezer and SxS dispenser models.
• The grommet
must
be replaced if one or both
of the following conditions exist:
– Water is leaking between the grommet and
fill tube
– The grommet does not seal tightly around
the tube.
